Chief, a private network for female executives on a mission to put more women in C-Suite roles, raised $100 million at $1.1 billion valuation in a Series B round led by CapitalG. The platform now has over 12,000 users and 60,000 on the waitlist. As Marlize van Romburgh writes for Crunchvase, “Chief’s growth comes as women remain a minority in the highest ranks of the business world. Just 41 of the Fortune 500 companies have female CEOs as of last year, a record at 8.1%.”
In the face of heavy lobbying, Amazon employees at a Staten Island facility voted to unionize. It is the tech giants’ first employee union. The landmark win comes at a pivotal time in the U.S. labor movement. Federally, the number of workers in union is the lowest it has been in decades at 10.3%.
Gumi Cryptos Capital closed a second fund of $110 million. The VC firm headquartered in San Francisco and Tokyo will use the capital to back 50 early-stage blockchain companies.
