A recent report by the International Monetary Fund suggests that crypto is more widely used in corrupt countries and those with harsher controls concerning capital. The findings add to the argument for a stronger regulatory measures for the $2 trillion market, and come at a time when existing frameworks vary greatly from one nation to the next.
Twitter’s shares closed up 27$ Monday morning after Elon Musk took a 9.2% passive stake in the social media platform. Musk now owns 73,486,938 shares at an estimated worth of $2.89 billion. Questions linger about whether Musk will aim to buyout the company or take a bigger role in coming days. “This is just the starter,” comments Dan Ives of Wedbush Securities. The mega-purchase came just two weeks after Musk castigated the company on Twitter, fittingly: “Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy,” Musk commented. “What should be done?”
Amazon will file a number of “substantial” objections in court in response to a New York City warehouses’ landmark vote to unionize.
